Alerting friends that you're home safely after a night out.
About
‘Let me know when you get home’ is a typical last exchange of words before going separate ways after leaving a club and heading home. But how often do we actually think to contact friends to check that they have arrived home?
A night out plays a huge part in the university experience for many young adults. It is a chance to meet new people and escape any stresses that studying can bring to an individual. For many students arriving at university, it is their first time experiencing this new part of life after fleeing the nest.
‘I’m Home’ aims to encourage conversation surrounding safety after a night out, by positively encouraging young adults to enable location sharing within their friendship groups. Using the I’m Home application, users can set their home location (visible to themselves only) and create groups using current mobile phone contacts. Once the groups are created, the user selects the group they are going out with, which is automatically alerted once they have returned home from the night out.
