Colourful sequential narratives inspired by fantasy, dystopia and mythology alongside expressive life drawing.

About

My main focus for my final year was in developing and illustrating sequential narratives. I love creating and illustrating stories and mainly specialised in creating comics during my final semester.

I honed in on using bright, contrasting and complimenting colours to describe mood, atmosphere and expression in my work, primely focusing on presenting a sense of personality as well as having bit of fun!

The work you see here is a combination of three projects I took part in this year. The first being a few pages from my Comic Book 'New Earth' which is a narrative based in a dystopian future following a young adult called Ryan as he discovers the dangers outside the domed city walls inspired by the works of Greg Tocchini, Amanda Connor and Mike Mignola.

The second image displays three final outcomes from a House Of Illustration brief where three love poems (The Trick by Imthiaz Dharker, Good Morrow by John Donne and Wild Nights By Emily Dickson) were to be given illustrated covers.
and lastly one a few Life drawing examples that focused in on colour and expression.

I really enjoy being expressive with media and love to mix and match, often using a combination of markers, watercolour, coloured pencil and chalk pastel to create work.

If I had the opportunity I'd absolutely love to work in the comic book industry to continue creating narratives and stories for people to read and enjoy!
