Learn what the different abbreviations, deductions, and additions to your payslip mean.

Employee Name | Employee's Personal Name |
Employees Pay Reference | Personal Reference number allocated to each employee |
Preferred payslip | Drop down, click on arrow to select your preferred payslip |
National Insurance Number | a National Insurance Number is given to each person over the age of 16. This is a personal number pertaining only to the individual it is issued to. |
Assignment Number | This is the same as your employee number |
Monthly | This indicates the frequency on your salary |
Location | This depicts where you are based |
Position | This is your designation |
Employee Address | This is your Home Address |
Organisation | This depicts the department you are in |
Grade | This shows your current grade |
Employer Address | This shows where you are based |
Tax Period Number | Tax month Number –Numbers 1-12 throughout the tax year (April-March) |
Payment Date | Date payment enters employee's bank account |
Tax Code | Employee's personal tax code |

Total Gross pay | This shows your gross pay in that period |
Total Deductions | This shows a total of your deductions in that period |
Total Amount Paid | This is your Net Pay and this value will credit into your bank account |
Pay Method-bacs | This is the method in which your salary is paid |
Sort Code | This is the sort code that you have provided us with |
Bank Account | This is the bank account you have provided us with |
Payment Amount | This is your net pay and the amount that will credit into your bank account |
Gross PTD | This is your gross pay for that month only |
Taxable Pay YTD | This is your taxable to date |
NI YTD | This is an accumulation of your National Insurance to date |
PAYE YTD | This is an accumulation of your tax to date |
Gross Pay YTD | This is an accumulation of your gross pay to date |
NI Employer YTD | This is an accumulation of your employer National Insurance to date |
PAYE PTD | This is the amount of tax you have paid in this month only |
Tax Office Information | PAYE Reference number-This is your tax office and PAYE reference number and should be quoted when calling HMRC |

ANIMAL OT | Overtime payment to animal workers |
ANIMAL TRA | Travel allowance paid to animal workers |
ARREARS | Arrears of salary |
BASIC PAY | Salary payment |
BONUS | Bonus payment |
CAR PARKING | Parking Permit cost (salary sacrificed) |
CHILDCARE | Childcare Voucher cost (Salary sacrificed) |
CYCLE TO WORK SCHEM | Deduction for 1/12th of bike cost |
MISC PAYMENT | Additional payment – taxable |
O/TIME | Overtime payment |
OMP | Occupational Maternity Pay |
PENSION | Payment to pensioners |
SHIFT ALLOW | Shift allowance |
S.M.P. | Statutory Maternity Pay |
S.S.P. | Statutory Sick Pay |
