Vietnam Scholarship 2025/6 (the “Scholarship”)

This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Scholarship, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Scholarship. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Application Process

  • There is no separate application form for the Scholarship. Your eligibility will be based on the information you provide to the University during the application process.
  • The University of Dundee Admissions Team will use information from your application to study to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria. 
  • This verification process will happen at the initial Offer stage where you provide evidence that your current domicile (also known as Area of Permanent Residence on your application to study) is Vietnam. 
  • You must ensure the information in your application and any supporting documentation is correct, complete, accurate and up to date as any award is based on this information. The University of Dundee reserves the right to withdraw this award if you have submitted information which is false, fraudulent, incorrect, or misleading.

Who is eligible?

You must:

  1. Have an offer to study an eligible Postgraduate Taught programme at the University of Dundee:

    Postgraduate taught – Must hold an offer for a full time, on campus  course  

    Please note: The course must be 180 credits, apart from PGDip in Professional Legal Practice which is covered by the Scholarship.

  2. Be classified as an International Fee-paying student by the University of Dundee.
  3. Not be studying a PhD Course.
  4. Have a Course tuition fee of £23,000 
  5. Please note: Any course which does not have a fee of this value, or above, will not be considered for this award.
  6. International Stage One or International Stage Two at International College Dundee applicants are also eligible for this Scholarship. The Scholarship will be applied upon your entrant year to the University of Dundee. Please read Vietnam ICD Scholarship key facts document.

Scholarship Information

  1. The value of this Scholarship is:
    1. Postgraduate Taught: £10,000 per year for 4  applicants.
  2. All scholarships are paid as a tuition fee waiver. No direct payment is made to any applicant. 
  3. The Scholarship is paid in each year of applicable study:
    1. Postgraduate Taught applicants  where the course spans more than 12 months full time, and a full year tuition fee is due in each academic year, the Scholarship will be applied in both years of study. 
    2. Where the tuition fee is reduced in Year 2, then the Scholarship will only be applied in Year 1.
  4. Scholarships are awarded on an Unconditional basis. However, this is not linked to your application to study status.
  5. Scholarships cannot be awarded on a pro-rata basis.

Key Information

  1. This Scholarship is applicable in the entry year to the University of Dundee only (September 2025and cannot be backdated to previous years. 
  2. The University will not offer the Scholarship to students who have matriculated at the University in their chosen programme of study.
  3. You are unable to combine the Vietnam Scholarship with any other University of Dundee scholarship or bursary. 
  4. If you have a partially funded external scholarship which is less than the Vietnam Scholarship, then you must select an applicable scholarship.
  5. If you have a fully funded external scholarship, the Vietnam Scholarship will be removed as the University will not provide the Vietnam Scholarship as an additional award.
  6. If an applicant has already been awarded the £4,000 Vice-Chancellor's South East Asia Scholarship at the time of this offer, this will be removed and replaced by the Vietnam Scholarship. 
  7. Should you wish to defer your entry to the University of Dundee, the following rules apply:
    1. Deferral within the same academic year: Scholarship can be deferred.
    2. Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.
  8. Clearing applicants are eligible to receive this Scholarship, and eligibility will be assessed as above.
  9. Changes to your programme of study:
    1. If you change your programme of study before, during or after matriculation, the University reserves the right to reassess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
    2. If your Fee status or any other personal information changes before, during or after matriculation, the University reserves the right to reassess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
  10. If you have paid your tuition fees in full prior to being awarded the Vietnam Scholarship, the value of the Scholarship will be refunded to you after enrolment at the University of Dundee. Alternatively, this can be transferred to your University accommodation account balance (if applicable). 
  11. The Scholarship is only paid in the years in which full tuition fees are paid. This also applies if you study abroad during your Undergraduate studies.
    1. The University will confirm the status of the Scholarship where required.
  12. You will be notified of any scholarship updates via the online applicant portal. We may also communicate with you using email to any email addresses you have provided to us. Types of communication may be:
    1. Confirming the Scholarship;
    2. Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the Scholarship.
    3. Requesting further information.
  13. We are unable to disclose details of the Scholarship to anyone other than you unless you provide your consent for us to do so. 
  14. Should you withdraw from your programme of study, the University may be in contact regarding payment of fees and scholarship balance.
  15. All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
