Regulations to be followed for the award of BA General Degree

1. The BA General Degree is an option only for students who have failed to meet the whole of the academic requirements for one of the professional degrees offered in the University and is only available with the approval of the relevant School in which such a student studies.

2. Before entering a programme of study for the Degree, a candidate must have achieved at least 300 credits in one of the Degree programmes referred to in paragraph 1. above with at least 60 credits at level 3.

3. In order to complete the requirements for the award of the Degree, a candidate shall take such modules from those currently made available by the University’s Schools, at any level, as shall accumulate to at least 360 credits.

4.1 The specific programme of study for each student shall be approved by an appropriate Adviser of Studies.

4.2 The programme of study must be completed within a maximum period of three semesters from first matriculation for the Degree.

4.3 Failure to complete the programme of study within the time limit specified will result in the termination of the student’s studies. Only in exceptional circumstances and with the permission of the Dean of the student’s School will the time limit be extended by a maximum of one further semester.

5. Each candidate for the Degree must pay the fee required for each module undertaken.

6. The mode of assessment for each module shall be such as is published by the relevant School.
