The Robertson Trust Scholars

Support Student Scholarships

The Robertson Scholars programme is run by The Robertson Trust, which supports young Scots who have the ability, but not necessarily the means, to get the most out of a university education.

With your support we can access match funding and enable more students to become Robertson scholars at the University of Dundee enabling them to receive a fully funded education and fulfil their potential.

When selecting scholars the Robertson Trust look for need, mainly financial but also other factors such as a chaotic family lifestyle or living in care. They look for attributes such as the potential to be successful, future leaders, and “stickability” – key to success and engagement.

In addition the students will access the Robertson Scholars “Journey to Success” programme. Key to the programme is the development of skills that will support our scholars in their future careers. These include self-awareness, resilience, networking, applying for jobs, communication skills, and personal branding. Students receive the kind of support that other students may obtain from family and personal connections, such as introductions to potential employers, access to business mentors, and advice and guidance on career choices.

Journey to Success turns the dream of attending University and gaining a degree into a reality for Scottish students from challenging backgrounds. 90% of Robertson Scholars graduate with a 2:1 or above and go on to employment in a graduate job or further study.

Your donation will transform lives. It is an investment in a young person’s future, increasing the likelihood of their obtaining a degree, achieving their ambitions, and realising their potential.
