Graduates normally complete a vocational or foundation training programme to consolidate their skills and can then choose to work in general dental practice, in the public/community dental service, or in a hospital training as a specialist or consultant.
University teaching and research is another attractive avenue for graduates, while some join the armed forces as commissioned dental officers.
“I am currently working as a General Dental Practitioner at a fast-growing dental group in Singapore. The education I received from the University of Dundee has equipped me well for my career as a dentist. I feel that the clinical experience I had gained as a dental student has certainly prepared me for the challenges as a working clinician.”
