We are recruiting a Postdoctoral Researcher to join the of Professor Adrian Saurin in the Department of Genome Integrity at The University of Dundee.

This is a fixed-term appointment for 36 months.

We are looking for a talented researcher to join the lab of Professor Adrian Saurin at the University of Dundee. This is to join a BBSRC-funded project to develop a chemical-genetic system to inhibit cyclin-substrate interactions, based on our recent work developing a similar system to inhibit the PP2A-B56 phosphatase (1) 1) Allan et al, Nature Communications, 2025

For further information about this position please contact Prof Adrian Saurin at [email protected].

To find out more about the lab and the project in general please visit www.saurinlab.com. In particular, check out the philosophy section to learn more about lab culture.

Your priorities will include:

  • Generating and validating new chemical-genetic approaches to inhibit different cyclin-substrate interactions
  • Using cutting-edge (phospho)-proteomics methods to identify binding partners and substrates of specific cyclin/CDKs complexes
  • Using a wide range of cell biology methods, including live-cell microscopy, to study the phenotypes associate with inhibition of specific cyclin/CDK subcomplexes
  • Linking the observed phenotypes to specific cyclin-substrates interactions

Who we are looking for:

  • A highly-motivated and ambitious postdoctoral researcher with a passion for science.
  • A candidate with a PhD in relevant scientific area, with at least one first author publication.
  • A strong scientific background in cell biology with experience of working on the cell cycle
  • Candidates who are motivated, honest, hard-working, collaborative and possess excellent organisational skills
