Get active at Dundee, a university with a great sporting pedigree. Our facilities are so highly rated that we were picked as a pre-Olympic training venue for elite athletes.

ise has a wide range of high class facilities. On campus we provide:
- a massive state of the art gym and personal training room
- 2 exercise studios for your favourite classes
- 3 glass-backed, competition standard squash courts
- a designated strength performance centre
- a specialised dance/indoor cycling studio
- a 25m swimming pool with sauna
- 4 floodlit, all-weather tennis courts
- 2 large indoor sports halls.
At our Riverside Sports Grounds we provide:
- 33 acres of playing fields
- 2 specialised all-weather pitches – one for hockey and one for other sports.
The facilities are complemented by our excellent services. We offer personal training, and an extensive range of exercise classes to support you in your fitness goals. We run dance and swimming courses for all levels and abilities, and provide support services such as physiotherapy and sports massage.
We also give all of our gym members a free Preva band. Preva is an exciting cloud-based network on our touchscreen machines, which allows you to check out the internet, watch tv, and more importantly create goals to keep you focused and motivated in your training.
I love the gym, it’s fantastic. The staff are really enthusiastic, which helps when you show up at 7am like a zombie! It’s extremely clean compared to other gyms I’ve trained at and it’s really looked after a lot. The opening hours are great, with people able to train before classes or late at night, whatever suits you.

The Sports Union is run entirely by elected students. There are over 40 different sports clubs, from Athletics and Archery through to Ultimate Frisbee and Volleyball.
The clubs cater for all levels - whether you just want to take a break from studying and keep fit, or have Olympic ambitions. They also have a great social dimension and students have commented that their sports teams feel like family.
Sports are good at Dundee, you get to try out new things like Gaelic football and shinty that you might not ever play back home, or things like rowing that you don’t have the resources or place to do elsewhere. I’ve done a couple of sports whilst I’ve been here and enjoyed them, especially the fact that once you’re a part of the group you never feel left out and everyone welcomes you in. Even if you’re awful they don’t care!

Dundee University Sport
Dundee University Sport is a partnership between ISE and Dundee University Sports Union, making it easy for you to participate in sport at any level.
University sports teams compete on the local, regional and national stage with the specific focus of competing successfully in the British Universities Championships. The commitment and ambition of team members is impressive and the hard work in training is often rewarded with league titles and success!
Want to play recreational sport without any additional commitments or training? Then Campus Sport is for you! Fun sport in a relaxed, informal setting - the perfect antidote to the strains of study!
I took part in lacrosse in first year to meet new people, a completely new sport that I’d never tried or even heard of before. I also joined the Dundee Uni Sunday League. A lot of people think that university sports are really competitive and there is that aspect if you want it, but there’s also a lot of teams that make everything accessible to everyone no matter your skills.
