Scotland's Saltire Scholarships

The Saltire Scholarship is available to applicants who:
- Have a conditional or unconditional at the University of Dundee.
- Are a citizen of Canada, India, USA, Pakistan or China (Hong Kong citizens are also eligible as it is a Special Administrative Region of China).
- Are able to demonstrate that they can meet the costs of living in Scotland and the remaining tuition fees.
- Have not previously studied for a full undergraduate degree in Scotland.
- Have not previously received a Saltire Scholarship.
- Meet the language requirements of the course.
- Complete an application form and submit it by the closing date of 27 May 2018.
Scotland’s Saltire Scholarships (SSS) is a programme of scholarships run by the Scottish Government in partnership with Scotland’s higher education institutions. The scheme offers up to 50 awards, each worth £8000 towards the annual international tuition fee of successful applicants. Any additional costs and expenses are your responsibility.
Scholarships are available for one year of a postgraduate Masters course.
The scholarships are designed to support the promotion of Scotland as an excellent destination for academic learning and are therefore targeted at the priority sectors of:
- Creative industries
- Healthcare and medical sciences
- Renewable and clean energy
This list is not exclusive and applications for courses in broader subject areas will be considered.
Saltire Scholarships are only available to citizens of:
- United States of America
A citizen is someone who is legally recognised and accepted as belonging to a particular country, either by birth or naturalisation.

How to Apply
As the Saltire scholarship is funded externally, you will need to apply to the directly here - https://www.scotland.org/study/saltire-scholarships/application-form. Please ensure you check the eligibility criteria before submitting your application. This is the only way you can apply for this scholarship and we cannot accept applications directly to the University of Dundee.
Your application will then be reviewed by a scholarship panel and you may be shortlisted. We will notify you via email on the outcome of your application within 8 weeks of the closing date.
