Minimum Entry Requirements for 2020 entry

The information below is a guide only and does not guarantee entry to the University of Dundee.  Applicants are advised to also provide details of previous qualifications at the level before their final year School leaving diploma, in the relevant section of the UCAS application form. This information will allow a full assessment of an application. Previous qualification results will be verified during our admissions process.

3 Year Degree - Complete and pass with C overall including B in Art and Design 

(Entry is based on your portfolio in addition to academic qualifications

Humanities, psychology, architecture, geography, planning

Year 1 entry - Complete and pass with C overall and  B in two subjects

Year 2 entry - Complete and pass with B overall and B in two subjects

Dentistry, medicine, oral health sciences

Pre-Dental/Pre-Medical Complete and pass with  A overall 

BDS/MBChB - Complete and pass with A overall and AA in Chemistry and Biology and BB in Mathematics and English 

BSc Oral Health Sciences- Year 1 entry only- Complete and pass with C overall and B in Biology

Engineering, physics, mathematics

Year 1 Beng/BSc - Complete and pass with C overall and B in Mathematics and a Science/Engineering subject (Physics is preferred)

Year 1 Meng/Msci - Complete and pass with C overall and B in Mathematics and Physics

Year 2 BEng/BSc - Complete and pass with  B overall and B in 2 subjects to include Mathematics and a Science/Engineering subject (Physics is preferred)

Year 2 MEng/MSci - Complete and pass with B overall and B in Mathematics and Physics

Law

4 year Degree - Complete and pass with B overall 

3 Year Degree - Complete and pass with B overall including one A grade

Computing

Year 1 entry - Complete and pass with C overall  and B in Mathematics and a Science

Year 2 entry - Complete and pass with B overall and B in Mathematics and Computing

Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Anthropology, Anatomical Sciences

Year 1 - Complete and pass  with  C overall and B in Chemistry and Biology

Year 2 - Complete and pass with B overall and B in Chemistry and Biology

Nursing

Complete and pass with  D overall including C in mathematics

Education, social work

Complete and pass with C overall and B in English 

(Previous study of Mathematics is also required)

Postgraduate - Taught

Applicants who hold a Bachelor degree may be considered for taught postgraduate study. You must submit your degree transcripts.

Postgraduate - Research

A Masters level qualification from a good university will normally be required. Evidence of some research experience (for example through a Masters Degree project) is expected. Transcripts of all previous degree-level studies must accompany the application.

English language requirements

For all our courses you will also need to satisfy the University's English language requirements.
