Minimum Entry Requirements for 2021 entry

The information below is a guide only and does not guarantee entry to the University of Dundee.  Applicants are advised to also provide details of previous qualifications at the level before their final year School leaving diploma, in the relevant section of the UCAS application form. This information will allow a full assessment of an application. Previous qualification results will be verified during our admissions process.

4 Year Degree - Average of Grade 6.5 in Titulo including 6 in an Art subject

(Entry is based on your portfolio in addition to academic qualifications)

Humanities, psychology, architecture, geography, planning

Year 1 entry – average of 7.5

Year 2 entry – average of 8.5

(Entry to Architecture is based on your portfolio in addition to academic qualifications)

Dentistry, medicine, oral health sciences

Pre-Dental/Pre-Medical - Average of Grade 9.5

BDS/MBChB – Average of Grade 9.5 including Grade 9 in Chemistry and Biology 

BSc Oral Health Sciences- Year 1 entry only- average of grade 7.5 to include Grade 7 in Biology

Engineering, physics, mathematics

Year 1 BEng/BSc – average of grade 7.5 with grade 7 in Mathematics and a Science/Engineering subject 

Year 1 MEng/MSci – average of grade 7.5 with grade 7 in Mathematics and Physics 

Year 2 BEng/BSc – average of grade 8.5 with grade 8 in Mathematics and a Science/Engineering subject 

Year 2 MEng/MSci – average of grade 8.5 with grade 8 in Mathematics and Physics

Law

4 Year Degree – average of 8.5

3 Year Degree – average of 9

Computing

Year 1 entry – average of  grade 7.5 with grade 7 in Mathematics and a Science 

Year 2 entry – average of grade 8.5 with grade 8 in Mathematics and a Science

Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, Forensic Anthropology, Anatomical Sciences

Year 1 entry – average of grade 7.5 with grade 7 in Biology and Chemistry

(Previous study of Mathematics also required)

School of Nursing

Postgraduate

For some of our postgraduate programmes there may be additional non-academic entrance requirements such as relevant work experience. These are detailed on the individual postgraduate course pages.

Postgraduate - Taught

Applicants who hold a Bachelor degree may be considered for taught postgraduate study. You must submit your degree transcripts.

Postgraduate - Research

A Masters level qualification from a good university will normally be required. Evidence of some research experience (for example through a Masters Degree project) is expected. Transcripts of all previous degree-level studies must accompany the application.

English language requirements

For all our courses you will also need to satisfy the University's English language requirements.
