Published on 29 April 2019
Dr Keith Dinnie, Head of Management and Marketing at the School of Business (UDSB), delivered the opening presentation at the ‘Food Tourism Innovation 2019 Workshop
The presentation was entitled 'Storytelling and Sense of Place’ and was delivered at Castle Terrace in Edinburgh on 24 April 2019
The event was organised by Interface, a hub connecting organisations from a wide variety of national and international industries to all of Scotland’s universities, research institutes and colleges, in partnership with Scotland Food and Drink, Connect Local, and the Scottish Tourism Alliance.
Over 60 delegates attended from across the food and drink and tourism sectors, including guides and operators, restaurants and cafes, gastronomy students, distillers, brewers, bakers, destination organisations, visitor centres and more. Speakers at the event included academics, food and drink producers, and tourism professionals.
“This was an inspiring event”, said Dr Keith Dinnie. “The range of speakers provided evidence in their presentations of the world-class quality of Scotland’s food and drink offer, as well as establishing a strong link between the country’s tourism sector and the food and drink sector.”
