Dr Norin Arshed, Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the School of Business, has just been appointed by the Scottish Government as Independent Advisor to the Minister for Business, Fair Work and Skills for Women in Enterprise
Her role will be to provide impartial advice to the Women in Enterprise Action Group on collaborative policy delivery and provide recommendations on how the Group can function. She will play a critical role in helping deliver the objectives set by Ministers
Norin appointment is a direct result of an article she recently published in a top journal with Dominic Chalmers and Russell Mathew entitled “Institutionalizing Women’s Enterprise Policy: A Legitimacy-based Perspective”. This article, which demonstrates the impact of her research, has generated interest and early responses from Scottish and UK governments and other bodies including Scottish Enterprise and Business Gateway.
