The graduating students whose creative talents will be celebrated include software engineers, games developers, computer programmers and tech entrepreneurs. The event takes place at the University’s Queen Mother Building from 4-6pm on Friday 3 May.

More than 60 students about to complete the final year of their undergraduate courses will be on hand to demonstrate their work. A wide range of visitors, including employers and industry professionals, will attend the event.

Professor Emanuele Trucco said, “This year’s cohort have produced an exciting array of digital projects that include computer games, software that supports people with disabilities, business-focused applications and artificial intelligence tools.

“Our students will go on to do great things in various fields of computing and, in creating work of this quality, the Class of 2019 have given themselves a platform to impress the potential employers who will be attending the Degree Show on the lookout for the most talented young designers. They have achieved a great deal and they should be as proud of their achievements as we are of them.”

Previous graduates who exhibited at the Computing Degree Show have gone on to make their mark nationally and internationally by working for major companies such as Cisco, Sky, JP Morgan, Accenture, RBS, Skyscanner, GFI Max, Thales, Stena and Google. Recent first-job destinations range from Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh to San Francisco, Texas and Korea. A number work locally in games companies and others have launched their own companies.
