Professor Raphael Heffron, Editor-in-Chief of the journal stated, “It is an honour to say that we are making history by being the only energy law and policy centre globally to have our own international journal with an internationally esteemed university press as a publisher.”

The journal, which is published in conjunction with Edinburgh University Press, covers a broad range of energy and sustainability topics with articles from across the world. Topics covered in the first issue include the transition to a low-carbon economy, a case study of the Bodo Community Oil Spill in Nigeria, key energy developments in Guyana and the Chinese coal de-capacity targets to name a few.

Professor Heffron explained, “We will begin slowly with this journal at this difficult time where people across the world face far more urgent and extreme challenges. But, as time passes, we hope the journal will continue to make a difference to living on a healthier planet and will continue to illustrate CEPMLP’s reputation as the global voice of energy law and policy.”
