Having been offered four University options in the UK, Amadeus Leon Mrema decided to travel from Tanzania to study in Dundee as he had heard good feedback from co-workers who studied at the University of Dundee.

Also, Amadeus says, Dundee was the best UK university in terms of customer service and assistance when he enquired about the MSc.

Sponsored by the Government of Tanzania, Amadeus graduated in 2019. Now working as an Auditor in charge of the Production Sharing Agreement (PSA), Amadeus talks about how studying at the University of Dundee prepared him for life and his career after graduation.

Amadeus says, “A University degree helped me to increase my salary and become a potential future leader in the oil and gas sector.”

MSc International Oil and Gas Management

“Being in the oil and gas sector my course was interesting as I got a deeper understanding of the petroleum sector operations from world-class professors. Also, it was an opportunity to meet other students from various nationalities and share experiences in the culture and operations of the petroleum industry in their respective countries.”

About the city of Dundee

“My time was wonderful in Scotland. I enjoyed university trips and the local shop staff and bank staff were always nice and ready to assist me. Dundee is a clean city with enough parks. Being central in Scotland meant that it was easy for me to go to Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and St. Andrews just to mention a few areas I use to visit frequently.”

About the University campus

"I liked most of all the library facilities. Most of the books and journals you can access from your home and when you need a particular book you can request it from home and when you go to the library you find it has been fetched for you, so there is no time wasted in searching for books. I always had good and timely assistance from the staff especially from the Global room, offering English assistance to international students."

The MSc International Oil and Gas Management will help you develop investigative and analytical skills, improve your knowledge, and understand the business processes needed for a career in the oil and gas industry.
