Accountancy students secure graduate employment
Published on 1 May 2021
Despite the challenges over the last year, our BAcc Accountancy students continue to impress graduate recruiters, with many of the current 4th years already securing graduate jobs.
Our BAcc Accountancy has a history of producing outstanding graduates who develop amazing careers for themselves. It’s very encouraging to see so many continue to secure jobs this year.
One student is Chloe Hunter, who has secured her role with EQ Chartered Accountants.
“After EQ accepted my application, I attended a 'graduate reception' which was over zoom. There were a number of breakout rooms where we mixed with different applicants and employees of the firm to ask and answer questions - this was for applicants to get to know the firm better and for the firm to understand what attracted us to them and the job.
“After this, I realised the firm was really for me and decided it was the job I really wanted!
“Next was an interview with 2 employees which lasted around 45 minutes and was relaxed and quite informal. I was then invited to have an 'informal chat' with two of the firm's partners where they asked me more about what I wanted to get out of the job and what areas I enjoyed.
“Eventually after this they offered me a role in the Dundee office and I accepted. They hope to arrange a time for all new graduates to go to the Dundee office to meet some of the team but are unsure when this will happen due to COVID restrictions.
EQ have a long history of recruiting graduates from the University, and other Universities across the country.
