The University of Dundee has enjoyed significant success in two prestigious sets of national rankings.

Today’s publication of the Times & Sunday Times University Guide 2026 show that Dundee has risen 13 places in the rankings, up to joint-23 in the UK.

As well as this considerable institutional success, the Guide also shows widespread success in the subject rankings, with Dundee placed top in the country for Bioengineering & Biomedical Engineering and second for both Medicine and for Dentistry. Other top ten-ranked subjects include Anatomy and Physiology, Creative Writing, Social Work, Civil Engineering, Art & Design, Physics & Astronomy, Archaeology and Forensic Science, Education, Pharmacology & Pharmacy, Allied to Medicine, and Biological Sciences.

This latest success follows on from the publication last week of the Guardian University Guide, which saw Dundee make huge strides, rising 26 places to 26th in the UK.

Professor Linda Martindale, Vice-Principal (Education and Student Experience), said that the tables reflected a concerted effort to support and improve teaching quality and student satisfaction.

She added, “Our strong performance is boosted by the excellent results in this year’s National Student Survey.

“My thanks go to all across our University community – staff and students – whose good work has helped produce these results.”
