Effectus Research signs up at Life Sciences Innovation Hub
Global management consultancy Effectus Research has set up operations at Dundee’s new Life Sciences Innovation Hub

Effectus specialises in advising organisations on strategy development and providing hands-on support to boost competitiveness and growth. The company boasts an international client base across a variety of sectors, including life sciences, energy and software.
Situated adjacent to the University of Dundee campus, the Dundee Life Sciences Innovation Hub offers flexible, state-of-the-art lab and office facilities to rent designed to help companies from the life sciences and other industries to grow and thrive.
Dr Morag Martin, Innovation Cluster Manager at the University, who leads the management of the Life Sciences Innovation Hub, said, “We are delighted to welcome Effectus Research to office space at the Life Sciences Innovation Hub.
“Being able to provide a location for Effectus Research in the heart of Dundee from which the company can provide consultancy services to global companies and medium-sized enterprises and meet with clients is fantastic.”
Effectus Research founder and managing Director Brian Mooney said, “Locating to the Life Sciences Innovation Hub provides the company with high quality office accommodation as well as a fantastic space to collaborate with our academic and industrial partners.”
Effectus Research was founded in 2010 and has since built a prestigious UK and international client base, advising on business strategy digital transformation. More locally, Brian sits on the Board of Management of Dundee & Angus College and is a Global Practitioner at Strathclyde University Business School.
The Life Sciences Innovation Hub was supported by a £20.2 million Scottish Government investment through the Tay Cities Region Deal as well as by Scottish Enterprise, the Wolfson Foundation, Garfield Weston Foundation, UK Government (through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund) and the University of Dundee.
The Tay Cities Region Deal is a partnership between local, Scottish and UK governments and the private, academic, and voluntary sectors which seeks to create a smarter and fairer Angus, Dundee, Fife and Perth & Kinross under the headings Inclusive Tay; Innovative Tay; International Tay; Connected Tay and An Empowered Tay.
The Scottish Government and UK Government will each invest up to £150 million in the Tay Cities Region Deal over 10 years, subject to final approval of robust business cases.
As of 30th September 2024, over £116m of Government investment has been released and just over 2,400 jobs have been created. This central investment from both Governments has the potential to lever in £400m of investment over 15 years, of which more than £180m has been secured by Projects.
