Professor Xiansheng Sun

Professor Xiansheng Sun has been recently elected as the fourth Secretary-General of the International Energy Forum (IEF) and will take office in August 2016.

Professor Sun used to work for the Chinese Petroleum Ministry (as Department Director of the Information Centre) before studying his MSc and PhD at the CEPMLP between 1996 and 2000. He had later worked for the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and been deeply involved in the negotiation and signing of contracts for a large number of collaborative projects for CNPC at home and abroad. He also served as President of the CNPC Research Institute of Economics and Technology (RIET), the CNPC’s think tank and the most influential one from China’s energy sector, until the end of 2015.
