Biography
Sarah is from Pakistan and studied MSc Dental Public Health in our School of Dentistry, then MSc International Business and Management in our School of Business, graduating in 2020 and 2021.
About Sarah
I like meeting new people, exploring parks, travelling, having coffee, writing and finding interesting books to read. I am an empath: I like to help where I can. I help to provide free dental and medical camps in Pakistan, fundraising for ration packages for people living in rural deprived areas and an orphanage, and tutoring.
Work-wise, I am currently freelancing. But I enjoy working as part of a team. It allows you to learn so much and broadens your perspectives about how a case/problem/project is handled. I’ve worked in a Dental Clinic set-up and a hospital set-up. Additionally, my interest lies in campaigning for a primary care agenda to create awareness about the importance of
- dental care
- the importance of viewing health as one unit
Reason for becoming an Alumni Ambassador
I absolutely loved my time in Dundee. Dundee will always hold a special place in my heart. I would love to be able to create an alumni network in Pakistan and meet others who have had the Dundonian experience. It would be absolutely amazing to hear about their expertise and adventures.
Additionally, it would be amazing to mentor students who may already be in Dundee! I would love to also be able to promote the University of Dundee in Pakistan. More students need to experience an academic journey at a Scottish University (but Dundee specifically!). It helps you become a stronger person, helps create self-awareness about your sense of individuality and grants you an opportunity to learn more, be more, and do more for yourself, your family and your community. The knowledge you gain and the critical thinking skills you develop will help pave the way to achieving what is destined to be yours.
