Biography

Peter Amoore is a Curatorial Assistant at Exhibitions, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, University of Dundee. He is an artist and curator who often collaborates on and co-produces projects with others within his practice.

Between 2015 and 2016, he worked as Assistant Curator at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop where he programmed On an otherwise ordinary evening, a series of three exhibitions focused on artists’ practice engaged with the telling of stories. The programme followed the work of artist and filmmaker Holly Antrum; poet and critic Raphael Rubinstein with designers Sophie Dyer and Maeve Redmond; and artist and comedian Sian Robinson Davies. The series presented improbable encounters with objects and architecture in response to Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop as a site of artistic production.

Prior to this, Peter was a committee member of the artist-run project Rhubaba in Edinburgh. From 2012 to 2016 he was involved in collectively programming the gallery’s exhibition and events along with running the studios. During this time the committee produced projects including:  e e e o ee e i a a e e a , (2015) a group exhibition of open-ended material investigations by artists Anne-Marie Copestake, Alexa Hare, Sophie Mackfall and John Robertson; Well-Done (2013) a series of meals hosted by artists Matthew de kersaint Giradeau, BAZ and Tom Varley; and Pictures of car radios taken while good music was playing (2013) a publication of responses from artists and writers to an artwork of the same name by Hans-Peter Feldmann.

Peter is also a member of the Rhubaba Choir, a fluctuating group of amateur voices who have been developing projects with artists since 2013.
