Biography

Paul Griffin is an Honorary Professor at the Centre.

Paul spent some thirty years as a partner in leading global law firms, working in the deals and disputes of the international oil and gas business, and in most hydrocarbon jurisdictions around the world. During this time he earned accolades as Global Oil and Gas Lawyer of the Year and the World’s Leading Energy Lawyer. He writes and lectures widely on the issues and challenges of the law and the oil and gas sector.

Paul is Vice-Chair of the Oil and Gas Law Committee of the International Bar Association and a member of the AIPN and the IEL. He is also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a CEDR Accredited Mediator.

Paul continues to practise English law and maintains his work in, among others, Europe, Middle East and Africa, as well as Asia where he lived and worked for some years.
