Linda Johnston has a nursing background. She is a qualified registered General Nurse, who specialised in Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgery. She began working for the University Department of Orthopaedic & Trauma Surgery in 1996 to instigate the Standardised Audit of Hip Fracture in Europe. She then became the Research Nurse Co-ordinator (North) for the largest to date UK Knee Arthroplasty Trial (KAT). During this time she completed a Bachelor of Nursing Degree, specialising in Audit, Research and Clinical Governance and obtained an MSC (by research) in 2010. She also works in collaboration with NHS Tayside on several projects involving Orthopaedics and Public Health.
