Ligit is from India and studied MSc Industrial Engineering & Management in our School of Science and Engineering, graduating in 2020
About Ligit
I am an Indian and I am from the south of India, Kerala. My parents worked in Kuwait so I did my schooling in Kuwait. I am a huge foodie and love to cook and bake. I also love to travel and hope to visit Japan someday. I am highly organized and love to organize events and was an active event head for the Indian Society at the University of Dundee. And not least of all, I love to help people and make them happy.
Recently, I have developed a great interest in the renewable energy sector and am currently trying to expand my knowledge in this area. I am also a certified project manager and am a recent MSc. Industrial Engineering and Management Graduate with a background in Mechanical Engineering. I have a great passion for project management, and I was fortunate enough to work in the UK for a small firm and help them develop a project management system.
Reason for becoming an Alumni Ambassador
While I was a student at the University of Dundee, I worked with the International Student Engagement Team as a call ambassador. This experience helped me realise there are so many applicants out there who were just like me having doubts about everything and looking for assurance from a trusted source. And as a call ambassador, I was able to clear the applicant’s queries on behalf of the University of Dundee and I had the opportunity to speak with applicants from the Middle East, Pakistan, and India. I still get asked about the University and the lifestyle in the UK as a student. Looking back, I feel honoured to have worked for the University of Dundee. I hope by being a part of the alumni team, I wish to be that 'trusted source of information' and I hope my testimonial about the University of Dundee will provide encouragement and support to future applicants to pursue their dream of having an international degree.
