Biography

Kenneth Baxter has worked for ARMMS since 2002, working on cataloguing collections, giving talks, assisting researchers, and dealing with enquiries.

In 2008 Kenneth was awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Dundee for his thesis on women in party politics in Scotland c 1918- c 1955 and has presented papers based on his research at events across the UK. An expert on the history of the University of Dundee and, as well as co-authoring A Dundee Celebration (2007), the most recent history of the University, he has written several articles on our academic past  for our blog Archives Records and Artefacts at the University of Dundee and for the University of Dundee magazine Contact

Kenneth also teaches on the University of Dundee's History Program, and has contributed to radio programmes and newspapers as well as authoring and editing several publications including Lost Dundee (2008 revised edition 2013), and 'Identity, Scottish Women, and Parliament, 1918-1979' in The Shaping of Scottish Identities (University of Guelph, 2011).
