Karthik Subramanya

Karthik Subramanya is currently Senior Advisor at the Boston Consulting Group, a global strategy and management consulting firm, where he advises senior executives within Utilities across Europe and the Middle East on NetZero, Energy Transition and . Till 2015, Karthik was Director of Strategy and Performance at SSE, and prior to that held senior management positions in Strategy, Corporate banking and Private equity in the Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Banking Group. He started his career as a management consultant with KPMG and Mitchell Madison Group.

Karthik is a Panel Member of the Competition and Markets Authority where he is a decision maker in mergers and markets investigations. He was involved in a 20 month investigation into the UK funerals and crematoriums sector.

Karthik is a Board Member of Scottish Enterprise the economic development agency for Scotland and previously was a board member of Creative Scotland(2016-20), the main funding agency for arts, film and creative industries in Scotland.

He is also a Trustee of Changing the Chemistry, which is a leading diversity charity based in Scotland. He was previously on the Board of Our Power, a not for profit energy supplier based in Edinburgh working in the area of fuel poverty.

Karthik was born in India where he obtained his electrical engineering degree from the University of Delhi and completed his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has lived in the UK since the late nineties, initially in London and has made Edinburgh his home for the past 15 years.
