Biography
Helen's work has moved between teaching and education liaison, always consistent with her interest in international education. Initially, Helen taught within Primary Education for 11 years, in schools in England, Italy, Egypt and Malaysia.
In 2008 Helen moved to the University of Dundee to take an operational lead role on international educational liaison and international student recruitment in Asia. In 2019 Helen completed her Masters degree in Education, and then returned to the University of Dundee as Lecturer (Teaching and Research) in the School of Education and Social Work.
With a research focus on international education and curriculum internationalisation, Helen is mid-way through Doctoral studies. Her work asks how we measure the student learning outcomes of curriculum internationalisation, and examines the cultural diversity inherent within what is measured, globally. She challenges dominant Global Northern perspectives on how success is defined, in internationalisation.
Helen holds a Divisional Lead role in Student Recruitment and Internationalisation, working across academic and professional services teams to coordinate and represent departmental work on recruitment, admissions and internationalisation. Additionally, Helen takes a lead role in University of Dundee's relationship with the International Baccalaureate Organisation, managing the relationship, delivering IB certificate modules and speaking at IB conferences.
