Biography

Delphine is a lecturer and global health researcher based in the School of Health Sciences. She is a physician and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health. She holds a DPhil (PhD) in Clinical Medicine from the University of Oxford and a master’s in international health and tropical medicine. She trained as a medical doctor in Tanzania and South Africa where she worked for several years in clinical practice and public health. Her research experience spans maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS, emerging and re-emerging diseases, epidemiology, and more recently behavioural medicine. Delphine has served as a consultant for various global health research and capacity/capability building & strengthening projects; most recently supporting the WHO’s Global Alert Outbreak and Response Network (GOARN); The Global Health Network (tGHN); and Health Information for all (HIFA).

Research

Current projects:

  1. Gaining consensus on the components for a self-management intervention for prevention and early diagnosis of recurrent urinary tract infections in older adults.
  2. Clinical Decision making for cessation of methotrexate for children and young people with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
