Dr Deepak Shamvedi

Deepak is the Programme Lead for the Engineering Design & Manufacture (Graduate Apprenticeship) degree at the University of Dundee. He joined the university in 2020 as a Lecturer, teaching topics in Electrical & Electronics, Programmable Electronics, Manufacturing, and Work-Based Learning.

Before joining University of Dundee, Deepak was the Mechanical Lead for a potential spin-out company called Infinect at Heriot-Watt University. The project aimed to develop an innovative antenna designed to eliminate patchy internet signals for rail, bus, and boat passengers, as well as people in remote areas.

Deepak’s research interests are interdisciplinary, with his PhD focused on designing 3D microwave components using direct metal laser sintering. He has published several research papers in this field. Currently, his research explores project-based learning, the integration of Industry 4.0 manufacturing for education and training, and the application of blended and hybrid delivery methods for teaching and learning.
