This module will introduce the basic concepts of law and government. You will study this through looking at where law and politics are found in our lives. You will explore which structures enable and challenge them, and how individuals engage with them.

What you will learn

  • understand the value and importance of law
  • see where law is found in our everyday lives
  • understand the basic elements of constitutions
  • to show your knowledge and understanding in written and oral form
  • think critically about law and government
  • effectively identify and read relevant sources
  • write academically
  • use information technology, including for information retrieval
  • manage your time and meet deadlines
