This module aims to provide you with a deeper understanding of wellbeing.

You will consider the implications of a socially just environment on children and young people's wellbeing.

You will do so by exploring wider societal issues. You will examine theories of wellbeing, social justice, and care.

You will explore the effect societal factors (both positive and negative) can have on the wellbeing of children and young people.

You will also have an opportunity to critically reflect on educational policies. You will look at how they might influence teachers and young people.

You will design an intervention to enhance young people's wellbeing. This will be done by reflecting on your own practice.

You will be able to explore the benefits as well as challenges of such approaches. You will do this by engaging with theory and academic research. This will allow you to develop a critical knowledge of the subject area for practice.
