Geography & Environmental Sciences (Summer School) module (LD02016)

This is an introductory course which incorporates basic key concepts in Geography and Environmental Science.

We will take you on a journey of key concepts and theories within human geography, as well as an introduction to physical geography and environmental science.

What you will learn

In this module, you will:

• learn how geographers approach issues from a spatial perspective, and how geography is useful to you and others in the world we live in
• understand how to read, understand/interpret, and describe data to understand processes within the natural world (Data Analytical Skills)

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• learn how geographers and environmental scientists classify, group, order and organise what they research in order to find patterns and explain relationships (Classification Skills)
• learn how geographers are critical, but considerate about events, activities, places, people and spaces in our world (Critical Thinking Skills)
• apply these key skills to real-world examples and demonstrate your ability to analyse both physical and human geographical issues.(Applying Geography)
