This module covers elective and trauma conditions relating to the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine; hip and pelvic including acetabular conditions; knee joint including soft tissue knee disorder management; foot and ankle including foot pressure analysis.

Additionally, students will be given lectures on statistics which will help to prepare for research project work and writing up project thesis.

What you will learn

  • learn how to assess, handle and critically evaluate options of definitive management of elective and trauma conditions of the spine, hip, knee, foot and ankle
  • build an understanding of basic principles of motion and mechanics
  • integrate principles of motion and mechanics into orthopaedic practice and fracture fixation surgery
