What you will learn

In this module you will:

• learn unit hydrograph calculations and simple flood routing. You will carry out calculations related to design of treatment processes
• assess the relevance and applicability of model data. This will allow you to resolve and quantify processes associated with practical engineering problems
• write accurate and informative technical reports

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

• understand the hydrological cycle and factors affecting exploitation of water resources
• understand factors affecting flood routing and rainfall-runoff relationship
• understand the objectives and methods used in water and waste water treatment
• understand introductory microbiology and its relevance to environmental engineering
• carry out unit hydrograph calculations and simple flood routing. You will be able to carry out calculations related to design of treatment processes
