You will learn about the supply, treatment, and disposal of water. You will also gain an awareness of related environmental and health concerns
What you will learn
In this module you will:
- learn unit hydrograph calculations and simple flood routing. You will carry out calculations related to design of treatment processes
- assess the relevance and applicability of model data. This will allow you to resolve and quantify processes associated with practical engineering problems
- write accurate and informative technical reports
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- understand the hydrological cycle and factors affecting exploitation of water resources
- understand factors affecting flood routing and rainfall-runoff relationship
- understand the objectives and methods used in water and waste water treatment
- understand introductory microbiology and its relevance to environmental engineering
- carry out unit hydrograph calculations and simple flood routing. You will be able to carry out calculations related to design of treatment processes
