What you will learn

In this module, you will:

  • critically identify and analyse current issues and policy in education
  • develop autonomy and initiative in reading and research
  • encourage application of new learning to a professional and practice context
  • develop skills in critical reading and analysis of policy and practice

By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • develop a critical knowledge and understanding of current policies and Educational issues. This will be within a Scottish context
  • show an understanding of how to access and apply relevant findings from educational literature
  • show that they can critically evaluate literature sources
  • produce a written report. This will critique evidence as appropriate. It will also draw appropriate implications and conclusions about policy concerning practice
  • show originality and make professional judgements in thinking about professional issues

The assignment title - "Using direct reference to the Scottish context, critically analyse the challenges and opportunities presented through current policy issues for teachers"
