In this module, you will consolidate your core graphic design skillsets. This will follow on from the things you have learnt in semester one.

You will learn additional ways to manipulate type and imagery. This will open up new skills that you will have to visually communicate to an audience. You will expand your understanding of graphic design outcomes. This will allow you to facilitate different actions from different audiences. For example, this could be to turn a page, to entertain, to make people think or to navigate the spaces they inhabit.

You will engage in hands-on project briefs. These are intend to inspire your creativity and innovation to experiment with type and imagery in different formats.

A focus of this module is an emphasis on the importance of your development of your own design process, critical thinking, problem-solving.

By developing these skills you will be able to create aesthetically-pleasing outcomes for an audience that are also functional.

What you will learn

By the end of this module you will be able to:

  • design effectively using compositional grids to compose design outcomes
  • think laterally and abstractly to devise effective aesthetic solutions to design problems
  • be confident in your core graphic design skills across a range of formats

    • This will be across 2 or 3 set projects
