As of September 2022 this module is known as 'Leading Innovation & Change in Healthcare Education (Simulation)'

The aim of this simulation module is to expand on the concept of simulation as an integral part of healthcare education and to develop approaches to the implementation, analysis and evaluation of implementing change in simulation based education in the workplace (at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels).



By the end of this module, students should be able to:

  • Critically appraise the contemporary knowledge and understanding of the literature and theories in relation to leadership, the management of change and innovation in simulation education within healthcare.
  • Explore and critically reflect on leadership, innovation and change-management principles and the application of theory into practice in the simulation education context within healthcare.
  • Propose and implement an educational change project, incorporating evidence-based practice and strategies into simulation education in their own healthcare workplace.
  • Critically reflect upon their own planning, preparation and delivery of leading and implementing a change in simulation education within healthcare.
  • Critically evaluate the contribution of leadership, innovation and change management within simulation education to support learning in the healthcare workplace.
  • Further develop academic writing and reflexive writing skills applicable across Programme but also as part of day to day work.
