In this module you will develop the writing and communication skills you need to translate complex scientific content for diverse audiences.
You will explore core principles including:
- narrative design
- audience segmentation
- the psychology of communication
- the ethics in biomedical communication
What you will learn
In this module, you will:
- Critically analyse and translate scientific papers and clinical research for different audiences
- Practise writing across formats, including:
- press releases
- medical writing
- lay abstracts
- social media content
By the end of this module, you will be able to:
- Communicate effectively through a variety of media to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
- Demonstrate critical reasoning and independent thinking in your analysis of scientific content
- Interpret research data based on critical appraisal of its quality
- Apply storytelling, narrative design and audience profiling to science and health communication
