​​In this module you will develop the writing and communication skills you need to translate complex scientific content for diverse audiences.

​You will explore core principles including:

  • narrative design
  • audience segmentation
  • the psychology of communication
  • the ethics in biomedical communication

​What you will learn 

​In this module, you will:

  • Critically analyse and translate scientific papers and clinical research for different audiences
  • ​Practise writing across formats, including:
    • press releases
    • medical writing
    • lay abstracts
    • social media content

​By the end of this module, you will be able to:

  • ​Communicate effectively through a variety of media to both specialist and non-specialist audiences
  • ​Demonstrate critical reasoning and independent thinking in your analysis of scientific content
  • ​Interpret research data based on critical appraisal of its quality
  • ​Apply storytelling, narrative design and audience profiling to science and health communication​
