Students will be able to understand the core components of being an entrepreneur and the key transferable skills required in a biomedical engineering sector. Our aim is to provide the following:

  • Link theories of entrepreneurship to practice.
  • Provide students with the opportunity to apply their learning in a realistic context.
  • Allow students to experience starting up a business.
  • Practice and develop entrepreneurial skills that have been taught in the classroom.
  • Develop decision-making skills.
  • Experience and learning from negative outcomes.
  • The digital entrepreneur and the digital space.
  • Understand the purpose, concepts and the key components and processes of developing a biomedical engineering business idea.
  • Understand some of the key management functions within a biomedical engineering business
  • Understand sustainability, ethics and social corporate responsibility
