Nine Songs: Beyond the Page
Yiyi Lu designed ‘Nine Songs: Beyond the Page’ as an interactive digital experience which reimagines classical Chinese poetry and Chu culture for a contemporary audience. Aimed at students aged 15 and above, it connects poetry, ritual artefacts, traditional patterns, music, and movement through a mobile application, spatial animation, and gesture-based interaction.
Rather than simply reading the poems on a printed page, users can explore the poetic imagery and discover the historical objects behind them. The experience offers the audience an accessible way to engage with the culture that produced these ancient ritual songs.
