Virtual backgrounds for alumni

For Microsoft Teams

1. Create a test meeting in your Teams Calendar and invite yourself.
2. Click Join in the Calendar invite.
3. In the pre-join window, make sure your camera is on, then click on the Background Filters button (below your video) to open the Background settings panel.
4. Click + Add new, then browse your computer desktop to locate the University themed images, select the one you want to upload and click Open.
5. Add as many images as you require.
   
   The image will look inverted on your preview screen, but it will display correctly for the other meeting attendees.
6. You can now close the test meeting without joining the meeting.
7. The next time you join a meeting, the image/s will be there for you to select from the Background settings panel.

For Zoom

1. After joining the meeting, click on Start Video.
2. At the top right of Start Video, click the ^ button and click Choose Virtual Background.
3. On the right of the Virtual Backgrounds panel, click the + button.
4. Click Add Image and then browse your computer desktop to locate the University themed images, select the one you want to upload and click Open.
   
   You may be prompted to download the 'smart virtual background package. This will allow you to use the images.
5. Untick Mirror My Screen.
6. Exit the settings tabs.
7. The next time you join a meeting, the image/s will be there for you to select from the Virtual Background settings panel.
