Singapore Alumni Society (SingASoc)

Last year, SingASoc delivered a fantastic Fireside Chat and Networking Session with alumna Heather Matla, who studied Graphic Design at the University of Dundee and graduated in 2000. For over six years, Heather worked as the Director of Talent at Netflix, where she played a pivotal role in establishing and scaling high-performing teams across Asia and oversaw the successful expansion of Netflix into multiple new markets. With 20 alumni in attendance, the group came away feeling inspired and more connected than ever to each other, and their alma mater!

New York Alumni Group

January brought with it Burns Night celebrations, with alumni of several Scottish universities coming together in the United States, in both Chicago and New York City, to pay homage to and celebrate the Scottish national poet, Rabbie Burns.

Hot on the heels of Burns Night, at the beginning of April, the annual Tartan Day Parade (a key event in Tartan Week) took place in New York City, with University of Dundee alumni proudly marching down 6th Avenue. They certainly didn’t let the driech weather rain on their parade!

Alumni Chapter Nigeria

November 2024 saw the Alumni Chapter Nigeria's Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lagos. Following a networking breakfast and introductory speech from Senior Lecturer in Energy Law, Stephen Dow, and Interim Director of External Relations, Lizzi Nicoll, the AGM kicked off with a seminar session Navigating Challenges - Overcoming Barriers to Private Sector Investment in Nigeria.

In the afternoon, the new Executive Committee were voted in, with George Kobani returning as President for a second term. Amina Rafindadi-Kofarsuari and Feso Bright were appointed as 1st and 2nd Vice President respectively, with Olasubomi Gbajumo appointed as Secretary and Safiya Muhammad Mukhtar as Assistant Secretary. Kingsley Onyeka was selected as the Financial Secretary, whilst Damilola Atayero picked up the role of Treasurer. Finally, Rosemary Ikang was appointed as Publicity Secretary.

The AGM was wrapped up with a lavish James Bond-themed dinner, with alumni awards presented to key members of the group; thanking them for their valued and impactful contributions across the last year.

Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) 500 Alumni Network

The Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) has a strong alumni contingent, with the international group coming together for a reunion every 5 years - the next one will take place in 2026, so keep your eyes peeled for news on its development! You can receive updates on the reunion from the Alumni Relations team by updating your details

The CEPMLP 500 Alumni Network recently partnered with the Alumni Chapter Nigeria to deliver a webinar discussing the energy transition and climate litigation, featuring speakers Dr Ernesto Bonafé, associate senior researcher at CEPMLP, and Professor Shawn Mu, Professor of Energy Economics and Director of CEPMLP. Over 65 alumni from across the globe came together to hear from Ernesto and Shawn, as well as share and discuss their own experiences in the energy sector.

CEPMLP 500 have an online WhatsApp community, where they share job and collaboration opportunities, news and updates from the energy sector and remain connected with their peers based across the globe from Nigeria to Malaysia. Finally, our alumni community in Indonesia helped deliver a visionary public lecture on the energy transition this February, which coincided with the launch of the new Beasiswa Indonesia Bangkit Scholarship scheme for Indonesian students studying any taught postgraduate course at the University of Dundee.
