Open to staff and students, this core facility promotes the use of flow cytometry in a wide variety of applications. We offer use of two multiuser benchtop flow cytometers.

All of our forensic anthropology staff are casework active and some have given evidence in court in the UK (Scotland, England Wales). All forensic anthropology and archaeology practitioners are certified with their professional bodies.

Our purpose-built foundry is one of only a handful found in UK universities and is used for metal sculptures, furniture, decorative pieces, and many other purposes

Light Microscopy is a widely used tool to visualise and quantify cellular behaviour and structure. The light microscopy facility offers a range of light microscope systems, each one with different capabilities so that a range techniques can be employed.
