In 2026 the Duncan of Jordanstone College Collection cared for by the University of Dundee Museums was formally Recognised as a collection of national significance. Recognition is a Scottish Government scheme managed by Museums Galleries Scotland, which celebrates, promotes and supports collections of national significance held outwith Scotland's national museums and galleries.
In total the collection comprises more than 8,000 artworks and artefacts, telling the history of Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art & Design (DJCAD) and the countless creative talents that have worked and studied here.
To mark our new Recognised status, this display celebrates the history of DJCAD and showcases highlights from the collection. It can be seen on level 2 of the Matthew Building (from the main entrance, head up the stairs to the right).
The Matthew Building is open Monday-Friday 08:00-21:00, Saturday 10:00-17:00. Admission is free.
