Pre-Application seminar for Psychological Therapy in Primary Care MSc
Join our seminar to learn how to prepare an application for the MSc Applied Psychology for Children & Young People (University of Edinburgh) and the MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care (University of Dundee and University of Stirling)
Monday 22 June 2026
Join members of the programme team to learn more about the CAAP role and tips for the application process.
The MSc in Applied Psychology (Healthcare) for Children and Young People and the MSc Psychological Therapy in Primary Care are taught masters programmes at the University of Edinburgh that trains psychology graduates to become clinical associates in applied psychology (CAAPs). It's well established that there is underrepresentation of people from racially minoritised backgrounds in psychology, including in the clinical associate role.
To support greater diversity in our applicants, trainee cohorts and clinical associate workforce, we would like to invite candidates from racially minoritised backgrounds to this 1.5 hours online seminar on the application process. You are welcome to join us if you are considering applying for the programme this year, or might want to apply in the future.
The seminar will cover:
- what a clinical associate is, and what a typical day in the role looks like
- practical steps for how to apply
- a detailed look at the person specification for the role
- hints and tips for the application process
- a chance for you to ask questions and meet some of the programme team.
