Looking for a part-time job alongside your studies? This friendly, practical session will help you understand where to find opportunities, how to approach applications and how to present your skills to employers.

Finding a part-time job can feel challenging, particularly if you have not applied for work in the UK before or are unsure where to begin. This session will guide you through the process and help you take your next steps with greater confidence.

We will explore how to search for part-time opportunities, learn how to identify suitable roles, understand what employers are looking for and tailor your applications to different vacancies.

The session will also cover how to describe the skills and experience you already have, even if you have limited employment history. We will discuss practical considerations such as balancing work with your studies and recognising your rights in the workplace.

You do not need to prepare anything in advance, and there will be no pressure to speak in front of the group. You are welcome to attend, listen and take away the information that is most useful to you.

Location:  Blackboard Collaborate.

Which Graduate attributes will be developed?  Resilient, adaptable and flexible, Reflective and committed to life-long learning, professional communicators using appropriate formats in different contexts.

Target Audience:

  • University of Dundee students.
  • University of Dundee alumni.

This session will be hosted online via Blackboard Collaborate.
