As a parent you need to be aware of your right and responsibilities concerning the management of your child’s behaviour while they are at nursery.
Parents have the right to
Ongoing and open communication concerning your child’s behaviour at nursery and the approach staff are taking with them. These communications can be done via TEAMS Meeting, phone call, face to face when possible or email.
A positive environment where you feel confident to leave your child, knowing they are being supported by knowledgeable and caring staff who will be good role models.
Be listen to, in an appropriate forum, if you have a concern about your child’s development or behaviour at home or in the nursery.
Parents have the responsibilities to
Request time, if it was felt necessary, to express concerns about your child’s development or behaviour.
Communicate openly with your child’s key person about their behaviour in the home.
Be responsible for their child whilst they (parents) are in the nursery.
Collect their child on time, allowing time for consultation with staff before the end of their session.
Inform nursery staff if someone different will be collecting their child (children will not be given into care of someone – known or unknown if the nursery has not been informed previously/or person under 16)
Be polite to staff and other service users whilst in the setting.
