Key facts for the GEMS scholarship

GEMS Scholarship 2026/27 (the “Scholarship”)

This Key Facts Document sets out the main details of the Scholarship, as at date of publication. This document should be reviewed alongside the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, as those terms and conditions will provide you with additional information that apply to you in respect of the Scholarship. If there is any inconsistency between this Key Facts Document and the University of Dundee Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions, the provisions of the Scholarship and Bursary Terms and Conditions will prevail.

Application process

There is no separate application form for the Scholarship. Your eligibility will be based on the information you provide to the University during the application process.

1. Your eligibility will be assessed by our Undergraduate Admissions team and the Scholarship is awarded as fee discount where applicable.
2. We use information detailed on your course application to determine if you meet the eligibility criteria for this award.
3. You must ensure the information in your application and any supporting documentation is correct, complete, accurate and up to date as any award is based on this information. The University of Dundee reserves the right to withdraw this award if you have submitted information which is false, fraudulent, incorrect, or misleading.
4. Please note that a change of name, misspelling, or other changes in information can affect Admissions records and may mean that you will not receive scholarship updates.

Who is eligible

To be eligible, you must:

1. Hold an offer to study an eligible Undergraduate programme at the University of Dundee:
   • Undergraduate - Hold an offer for a full-time, on campus programme. This excludes any programme in the School of Medicine or the School of Dentistry.
   • Programme fee must be £21,800 or above for Undergraduate programmes.
2. Be starting your course in September 2026.
3. Be studying at a GEMS Education School whilst applying to an Undergraduate course at the University of Dundee.
4. Hold 'International' Fee Status.

Award information

The value of the Scholarship is £6,000 per year (up to a maximum of 5 years) and is awarded as a tuition fee waiver. No payment is made directly to you

Key information

1. The University of Dundee GEMS Scholarship is awarded to students studying at a GEMS Education Schools whilst applying to an Undergraduate programme at the University of Dundee.
2. This Scholarship is applicable in the entry year to the University of Dundee only (September 2026 intake) and cannot be backdated to previous years.
3. If you have applied for a Part Time or Distance Learning programme, then you are not eligible for this Scholarship.
4. You are unable to combine the GEMS Scholarship with any other University of Dundee scholarship or bursary.
5. If you have an externally funded scholarship that covers part of the full tuition fee, any applicable University of Dundee scholarships, for which you are eligible, may be awarded (provided that any University of Dundee scholarships are up to a maximum of 50% of your tuition fee total, and the total value of the awards combined does not exceed the total University of Dundee tuition fee).
6. If your tuition fees are paid in full by an external sponsorship body no University of Dundee scholarships or discounts will be applicable, unless there is an agreement to this effect with the relevant sponsorship body.
7. Should you wish to defer your entry to the University of Dundee, the following rules apply:
   • Deferral within the same academic year: Scholarship can be deferred.
   • Deferral to a new academic year: Scholarship cannot be deferred.
8. If you are required to repeat a year of study (at any point throughout the duration of your study), UoD reserves the right to remove your scholarship.
9. Changes to your programme of study:
   • If you change your programme of study before/ during matriculation or after latest start date (30.09.2026), the University of Dundee reserves the right to re-assess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
   • If your Fee status or any other personal information changes before, during or after matriculation, the University of Dundee reserves the right to re-assess eligibility for scholarships and may withdraw the Scholarship Offer should your eligibility have changed.
10. All communication with you will be via the online applicant portal (eVision). Types of communication may be:
    • Confirming the scholarship.
    • Informing you that you have not met the criteria to be awarded the scholarship.
    • Requesting further information.
11. The University of Dundee is unable to disclose details of the Scholarship to anyone other than you unless you provide your consent to do so.
12. Should you withdraw from your programme of study, the University of Dundee may be in contact regarding payment of fees and scholarship balance.
13. All scholarship decisions are final and cannot be appealed.
